Through out the course I have noticed that learning technology is much different than learning standard material. It seems as though people panic when a new technology is being taught because it is something they know nothing about. It is important to remember that we have been learning new concepts our whole life and just because a technology is being learned you shouldn't treat it different than any other materials. Once mastered it will be rewarding and useful because not many people are familiar with how to use the newer technology let alone create the websites.

There are many aspects of this class that are important and you should remember. Above all I think that networking relationships through the internet is most important. Relationships can be all kinds. Many internet relationships are business relationships like you would find on eBay. The internet provides many opportunities for people of similar interests to share with each other. They could share information and associate with each other like on a blog or you could develop more business relationships where you would deal or sell to people. The internet can be exploited in many ways to benefit each of us and I feel that networking to create relationships is the most important.

Fair use is a term that we can all relate to. This is especially good for us because in this class we will be using pictures and other items that we did not create but merely got from someone else. It would e a pain for all of us if we had tio get permission to use each image from the person that created it. It would be even harder to enforce leading us to the fair use laws. Many sites provide icons and pictures that are included in the fair use policy. One site that hosts many pictures that anyone can use is http://gimp-savvy.com/PHOTO-ARCHIVE/. Many more can be found by doing an internet search. Another example of material that is for everyone's use can be found by looking at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creative_Commons.

In my website I intend to to give it a fun casual sort of look. It will look attractive as well as have good material on it. I want to design it around my interests having headings such as, professional information, school information and entertainment. Each category will have some pictures and links that will some what connect to my interests. The different parts of the website will appeal to different audiences. The professional part will appeal to employers where the entertainment will relate to anyone with my similar interests. I will most likely have problems designing the page to fit the relaxed feel that I am going for. Once again the format will largely reflect the audience it is intended for. It will be tough to make a difference between the two. I would also like to have some sort of music playing in the background, perhaps if you drag the cursor over a certain part of the screen.

My name is Jeff Snyder and I am currently enrolled here at Ohio State. I am a junior in the technical corporate education program. I am interested in web design because I have great interest in computers but do not know how to make web pages. This will benefit me in the long run by widening my technical knowledge. I currently am employed at OSU in the OIT department. I am on the internet the entire time I an at work. I use the web to find solutions to peoples' technical issues. I also use the internet as a means for communication through email and instant messages.

When discussing how to use video production professionally there are many things that come to mind. First a company needs to advertise for them selves and videos are one good way to do that. People can create and edit a video to make a commercial for the company in hopes to increase their popularity. Another way one can use videos professionally is in a how to video. When conducting training over and over on the same topic it would be a good idea to create a video that can be viewed over and over. It would use less resources and would be easier and more consistent. Another way videos could be used is in a video announcement. Managers could create a video and edit that video to say exactly what they want to express to their employees. They would be able to go back and edit mistakes creating a sound video announcement. There are many ways that video productions can be used professionally althought probably the most common would be in a tv commercial.

For the second and final video project we intend to complete a short comical film that will incorporate elements from photoshop and movie maker. We will make a short documentary film that will trace an idea from the beginning stages to the marketing aspect, eventually turning into an infomercial. Our idea is still in the preliminary stages but will continue to develop through out the next couple weeks. We intend to take a lot of our own footage and splice it together to make a funny inspirational video. This video has a lot of potential to be fun as well as be educational for us as far as creating a video with our own footage from the ground up. Good luck to all as you complete your videos!

The process of creating our video has been fun and challenging. We picked our group by proximity and ended up having good team chemistry. We were undecided on our topic for a while but after much discussion it clicked and we decided to do a day with the biggest bad asses we could think of. We basically made a montage of us 3 spending a week with these exceptional gentlemen. We photoshoped pictures of us with them and put a music background to go along with it. The pictures were especially fun to make because it gives the impression that we were chillen with the movie stars.

Graphic design has a lot to do with contemporary learning. First off most of the tools we use to learn are created by some graphic designer that created the image and outlines the product to be put into production. When designing text books or power points the designer is going to use a format that will be conducive to learning. Some graphics make it easier to learn. For example if a diagram is made to describe a process in stead of describing it with words it may be easier to visualize how the parts of the process work together. When discussing page layout we must keep in mind the way we were taught to read. We read from left to right and if one made a text that read top to bottom or had some sort of strange layout for the text it would make it harder to read/learn the material. When used correctly the page layout can enhance ones learning by incorporating graphics, charts or diagrams created by a graphic designer.

In the professional world people will take you more serious when you act more professional. That goes for actions as well as the work that you do. Using layouts and newsletters is essential to adding a professional look to the newsletters that you might create. I will use the layout if/when I need to create a news letter simply because it is easier to input the information on the already layed out page and also because they will look better. I am glad I was introduced to this feature.

Image Editing in Profession

I see photoshop as being an essential tool when dealing with presentations. If one uses photoshop correctly they will be able to make effective presentations that will catch the eye of the viewers. When editing pictures, designs or layouts photoshop adds a professional look that can help in making the presentation effective.

So far when doing my image editing on photoshop I have found that there are many many tools with endless possibilities. It seems that photoshop is an interesting program that when used correctly with knowledge on the program one can create very interesting images. The program also is good when editing my own images to get rid of red eye and crop photos. I see my self gaining usefull knowledge on how to use the photoshop program that I will be able to use later in my career.

About My Self

I am interested in multimedia because I enjoy working with computers in basically every way accept programming. I hope to have a good time in this class by accentuating the creative side of my mind, since I rarely get to use it. Happy New Year to all!
